Owning a Vacation Rental Property on Grand Cayman

Ownership

The Coral Stone Club on Grand Cayman Island is a Brian Butler Development completed in 1994. It consists of 33 custom-designed vacation rental units with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths; and a double unit of 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms with enhanced living and dining areas. Seven of the units can lock out to 2BR, which is an option offered throughout the year, except for holiday weeks. There are currently 15 original owners and 15 families that have owned over 6 years.

In January, 2005, Coral Stone Club initiated a major renovation to the complex. This was partially due to Hurricane Ivan, but the main thrust came from the commitment of the owners to make Coral Stone Club a first class property that would withstand a Category 5 hurricane with minimal damage. Engineers were brought in to design and develop all structures to the specifications necessary to meet these criteria. Lighting designers, structural designers and landscape architects were hired to redesign the look and feel of the property.

Today, the newly renovated Coral Stone Club stands as one of the premium vacation rental properties on Seven Mile Beach, ideal for family vacations.

Concurrent to exterior upgrades each owner undertook complete renovations to their own unit. Interiors were stripped down to the concrete walls. These units now have new floors, custom-designed bathrooms, kitchens and many unique features that make each unit different.

The Beach

The true capital appreciation of any building on Seven Mile Beach is directly correlated to the amount of beach frontage owned by the strata. The Coral Stone Club is in the unique position of owning 420 feet of beach. To date, there is only one other property along Seven Mile Beach that owns more beachfront, but only 25 feet with hundreds more guests to share the space.  This Coral Stone Club real estate is shared between 35 owners. With current valuations running in excess of $160,000.00 per linear foot, the value of beach front belonging to the Coral Stone Owners far exceeds that of many other properties. This is an important feature to keep in mind when comparing the Coral Stone Club to other Seven Mile Beach properties.

Being a Part of the Family

We have now been residents at Coral Stone for a month. What a month! Moving back to Cayman after a 3-year post-Ivan hiatus, we made it just in time to re-pack everything just unpacked to be ready for Dean! Thanks to you, and all of your staff, we are certain our condo here has been the right move. You and the staff were the deciding factors in our purchasing this apartment, rather than the other one we were seriously considering. Your assistance (and the help of your staff) with professional, cheerful assistance during the moving days, the hurricane preparations, and since: just the best. The owners we have met, have made our first month here a very very good one.
