The annual Carnival Batabano, which began in 1983 and is hosted by the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman, returns on April 30th and concludes on May 8th. The phrase “Batabano” refers to the tracks left in the sand by nesting sea turtles and was coined to honour the Islands’ turtling legacy.
