Record Number of Rays at Stingray City

Stingray City is one of the biggest attractions for visitors to Grand Cayman. Where else can you visit a sandbar seemingly in the middle of the ocean and visit with the puppies of the ocean? As travel becomes more environmentally focused, a recent survey has put concerns over the well-being of the rays to rest.

During the biannual population count at Stingray City, 115 rays were counted, which is a record for the sandbar! Safety standards and handling rules continue to improve with more enforcement on guides to ensure that when tourists head to the sandbar to meet the rays that it’s a positive encounter for everyone.
