Turning Waste into Art

 In Uncategorized

Plastic waste has become a popular topic on Grand Cayman with beach clean ups and other reducing and recycling efforts gaining momentum. According to scientists our oceans are just 30 years away from having more plastic than fish, making plastic reduction an important cause.

Plastic bottles are one of the most common items of plastic, and Cayman students have come up with a creative way to deal with used bottle caps. The Cayman Bottle Cap Drive is taking place at most schools around Grand Cayman, collecting bottle caps to create a large public mural.

Local artists such as John Broad, Kaitlyn Elphinstone and more will be helping with the art project. Scheduled for the Spring, be sure to keep your eyes open for the mural during your trip to Grand Cayman in 2019!
