Turtle Season is Here

It’s officially turtle nesting season! Grand Cayman’s resident green turtles were near extinction but are now once again nesting on our shores. This is thanks to the Cayman Turtle Centre and their variety of programs such as releasing hatchlings.

Did you know that the Cayman Turtle Centre also does school programs so that children can get involved with the well-being of marine life from an early age?

In addition to these programs that are important for our local community, it’s also a popular attraction for visitors. Swim with turtles in the lagoon, hold yearlings, and discover other wildlife. Interested in visiting when you’re in town? Check out their website! And of course, please watch your step while on the beach for any potential turtle nests.
