Visit Bodden Town for a Quieter Side of Cayman

 In Activities, History, Holidays

George Town may be the capital of Grand Cayman, but it hasn’t always been. Once it was Bodden Town on the East End. Dating back to the 1700s, Bodden Town was the original settlement on Cayman with a rich history featuring trade ships and pirates.

Now, Bodden Town functions as a quiet beach town with historic landmarks and quaint shops. Visit the Mission House, a home depicting early days on Grand Cayman with artifacts from the original home owners. Shops, eateries, and local art make for easy strolling away from the crowds that tend to be found in George Town.
