Travel Cayman Application Required

Persons wishing to travel to the Cayman Islands must apply via the Travel Cayman portal. The Travel Cayman portal enables travellers to specify if they have been vaccinated, whereby provisional approval can be granted.

Start your application here.

Quarantine Lifted for Fully Vaccinated Travellers

There are no quarantine requirements for fully vaccinated travellers aged 11 or over, or unvaccinated children age 11 and younger who are assuming the vaccinated status of their adult travel companions if they are traveling from a country with vaccination rates that are 60% or higher for the first dose of the vaccine and where those travellers spent at least 14 days prior to the date of travel. These countries include the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Proof of fully vaccinated status is required.

  • Travellers who travel from a country with a vaccination rate below 60% for the first dose of the vaccine are required to quarantine for a minimum of 7 days.
  • Vaccinated household members are not required to quarantine but will be required to undergo a daily LFT for 10 days.
  • Unvaccinated visitors (age 12 and over) are not able to travel to the Cayman Islands at this time unless the visitor has a close tie to the Cayman Islands.
  • If you are an unvaccinated Caymanian or Returning Resident, you are required to quarantine for at least 7 days.

COVID-19 Testing During Your Stay

Vaccinated travellers over the age of 5 are required to take a lateral flow rapid test on days 2, 5, and 7 of their stay.

A Rapid Antigen Testing Card will be issued by Customs Border Control upon arrival. This card will be updated by a healthcare provider whenever a test is administered.

Full details of the LFT testing requirements can be found at the following link:

COVID-19 Test Required 1 Day Before Travel to Cayman

Unvaccinated children age 11 and younger are permitted to travel to the Cayman Islands as they will assume the vaccination status of their adult travel companions.

Children between the ages of 5 to 11 will be required to undergo the same testing requirements as adults. Children age four and under will not be required to do any testing.

All travellers aged 5 and above, must provide a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 1 day prior to departure. Both PCR and certified rapid tests are now accepted.

The test can be taken any time the day before the departure, it is not limited to 24 hours before departure. As an example, a test can be scheduled at 8am and the flight can be at 11am the next day. “Departure” is defined by the departure of any connecting flight or transit flight to the Cayman Islands, where the layover between flights is less than twelve hours.

Health Insurance & The Cayman Islands

All inbound travellers will be required to attest to a statement that confirms that they possess health insurance which includes COVID-19 coverage, or that they understand the financial risks they are taking and that they have independent means to cover their medical costs.

As prescribed under existing Customs and Border Control legislation, the government reserves the right to require that travellers who cannot show means to support themselves during their visit provide a written guarantee from a sponsor undertaking that they (the sponsor) will be fully responsible for the costs incurred by the visitor during their stay.
